BUFORD, Ga. (July 14, 2021) — Gill Fishing, the maker of technical and lifestyle apparel for anglers, will unveil at ICAST 2021 its new XPEL Tec collection, a full line of premium warm-weather apparel that provides unrivaled performance and protection from summer’s most grueling elements. The collection, powered by Gill’s exclusive XPEL water-, stain- and odor-resistance technology, will be available in November 2021.

The XPEL Tec collection, available for men and women in new colors and an updated fit, is the ultimate summer technical apparel system, designed to allow anglers to perform their best in punishing humidity, heat and sun. Gill’s lightweight, highly breathable fabrics wick sweat and provide 50+ UV protection, while Gill’s proprietary XPEL fabric technology repels water, prevents stains and controls odor. The result: high-performance apparel that won’t get soaked and slimed while releasing trophy bass back into the lily pads or catching bait with a cast net – or permanently stained after cleaning a box full of fish or getting splashed with mud while kayaking.

“We know there’s a growing demand from both freshwater and saltwater anglers for premium technical clothing they can depend on to stay dry, cool, clean and protected from the sun. By working closely with professional anglers and listening carefully to our customers, we designed a full range of tough, reliable apparel that not only offers the performance serious anglers demand on the water, but also the styles,” says Tom Houston, sales director for Gill North America. “Gill is dedicated to providing the best selection of technical apparel to anglers, and the XPEL Tec collection is a testament to our long-term commitment to the fishing market.”

The XPEL Tec collection will feature a sun hoodie, long-sleeve shirt, two styles of shorts, gloves, and a sun gaiter. Select colors of the hoodie and long-sleeve shirt will launch in November, while the remaining styles will be available in February 2022.

Gill launched its proprietary XPEL technology in 2020 and is now expanding it to a wider range of styles. The plant-based technology arms clothing with a protective shield from water, blood, oil, and other muck, forcing contaminants to instantly bead and roll off fabric without staining or soaking. XPEL naturally controls odors and keeps clothing fresh, even when stored wet in bags or boat lockers. XPEL delivers this best-in-class protection without changing the comfort, feel or breathability of fabrics. Gill guarantees consistent performance for up to 30 washes, while the treatment will remain effective for up to 50 washes.

The XPEL Tec collection is part of Gill’s 2022 range it will showcase during ICAST. Other new products include a new color for the XPEL-treated Langland technical fishing hoodie, a comfortable and stylish organic cotton t-shirt, and a classic-style trucker cap.
